" Training animals reminds us that creating beautiful things takes time"

-Valerie Naegele

Valerie Naegele is the owner of Venture Doggie LLC and has over 20 years of animal care experience. She pursued her M.S in Molecular Cell & Developmental Biology and B.S in Environmental Biology degrees at SUNY-ESF (NY) and University of Innsbruck (Austria) and helps dog owners solve their dog's behavior problems. As a former veterinary technician at both animal shelters and veterinary hospitals in Colorado and New Hampshire she oversaw the care of hundreds of dogs a year.

While Valerie's formal dog training experience stems from Mark McCabe's Training Between the Ears System and her continued apprenticeship with Rhonda Bilodeau of VT Dog Pack, her adaptation and application of those skills to the real world is what makes her training particularly effective.
Valerie is a lifetime student and has completed hundreds of hours studying TBTE, and her work is influenced by Ivan Balabanov, and Jay Jack. She is also a student of the horse and studies horse behavior and training with the Academic Art of Riding, Mustang Maddy and Stacy Westfall. She is a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.

Meet Valerie's guardians
Lewen is an Australian Cattle Dog and was most likely born in October of 2013. Valerie discovered him on a highway while living in Colorado, and it was love at first sight. She always says he is her guardian angel that was sent to her, because he has brought so many beautiful things into her life!

She likes to say he is her whole heart.

He enjoys herding, biking, agility, running, and fetching frisbees!

Dusty is an American Quarter Horse and the sweetest mare you will ever meet! She is yet another incredible animal guide, and teacher in Valerie's life. They work on Western Dressage, Positive Reinforcement Training, and have the goal of bareback and bridle-less riding! They play with natural horsemanship, liberty work, as well as jumping. If it has to do with horses they are up for learning it! Their biggest influences are Mustang Maddy and Stacy Westfall.

Zara is a 5 year old Throughbred and quite the athlete! She is an off the track racehorse and has become another incredible animal guide, and teacher in Valerie's life. Their focus is currently in dressage and looking to do cross-country eventing! Together they make an incredible team, and enjoy bonding on the ground, in the saddle, over carrots, and just being around one another. This mare is as radiant as her name.
